Huffington Post

What a thrill to see our historic listing, Indian Head Camps, on Huffington Post this morning!  Great write up with all of our photographer, Mike Perlman's,  gorgeous photos.

A visit to this property is an extraordinary step back in time.  The camps were built in the 30s and feel like they haven't changed a bit.

They are located at the end of Lopaus Point Road, somewhat close to where Julia Child's Mount Desert Island getaway was that you read about as one of her favorite places.

With tons of privacy and 2500 feet of shore frontage, we wouldn't be a bit surprised to see another celebrity - looking for a spectacular yet laidback hideaway -  take up residence.

From the Huffington Post:

"When Pulitzer Prize award-winning journalist Walter Lippmann wanted to get away, he really wanted to get away. His Tremont, Maine retreat, which was made up of a main house and a few cabins on 28 acres of land, guaranteed that the only neighbors that could be spotted would be of the animal variety. Called "Indian Head Camp," the property was designed to take in incredible views of the sea (not to mention about 2,500 of private water frontage), while still having that cozy rustic Maine feeling.

If you're also of the "less is more" philosophy when it comes to people near your vacation home, you're in luck. The property can be all yours ... if you have $4.35 million sitting around. Convince yourself with the photos below, then visit Realtor.com for more details."
